Airbus Public Safety and Security has built a strategic partnership with Proximus, Belgium's leading provider of telecommunications and digital services, and is launching Agnet MCx, its solution for business-critical communications, on the Belgian market. This partnership marks a significant breakthrough in leveraging the specific characteristics of 5G to improve secure business-critical communications, particularly in the industrial, transport and logistics sectors.
Communicating critical information quickly and reliably
The Agnet MCx solution securely and reliably delivers advanced features such as Push-to-Talk, secure instant messaging, live video sharing and location-based services. It allows users of two-way radio devices, smartphones, tablets and laptops to communicate individually or in groups. These tools provide a better assessment of the in-the-field situation in real time, for fast and effective decision-making. The partnership between Airbus and Proximus ensures that business-critical information is communicated quickly and reliably, increasing the collaboration and efficiency of teams in the field. Proximus has successfully tested this new-generation solution with various customers in recent months.
This collaboration makes Airbus' Agnet MCx solution accessible over Proximus' 4G and 5G networks, including the slicing feature, when commercially available. This 5G-dependent feature enables users to "slice" the 5G network and reserve guaranteed bandwidth for special applications to meet the specific mission-critical needs of some businesses. These features, including the creation of private mobile networks, high bandwidth and low latency, depend on Proximus' 5G capabilities and will greatly enhance the functionality of Airbus’ Agnet MCx, providing the Belgian market with an unprecedented solution.
Eric Davalo, Head of Europe for Airbus Public Safety and Security: “We are delighted to partner with Proximus NXT, which brings unique expertise in business-critical communications to the Belgian market. This partnership is proof of our shared commitment to delivering innovative solutions that meet the security and efficiency challenges of businesses and organisations."
Anne-Sophie Lotgering, Enterprise Market Lead for Proximus: “This partnership with Airbus underlines our commitment to innovating and providing our customers with cutting-edge communications solutions. By combining our 5G network with Airbus' Agnet MCx solution, we are opening up new possibilities for business-critical communications in Belgium, offering unparalleled security, reliability and performance."
