Airbus receives ISO 27001:2022 certification for Agnet Multi-tenant SaaS

Agnet certification ISO 27001 by Bureau Veritas

Airbus Public Safety and Security (PSS) received the ISO27001:2022 certification from Bureau Veritas Group for its Agnet Multi-tenant SaaS platform, thus verifying the company’s commitment to security. The certificate is an internationally recognized standard that specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an Information Security Management System (ISMS). PSS earlier received the same certification from DQS GmbH for the Airbus TETRA system.

Highest cybersecurity standards for critical communications

Airbus is indeed committed to delivering solutions that are resilient against modern cyber threats. Cyber security is not just about developing technical capabilities but is a systematic way to securely manage sensitive information.

Airbus security management practices address people, processes, and technology in order to deliver secure critical communications solutions to meet the demanding needs of defence, public and private organizations worldwide. As a European company, Airbus complies with EU cyber security regulations.

Agnet, the mission-critical communications (MCX) solution developed by Airbus, delivers end-to-end security, and resilience to cyber attacks and data breaches. Agnet Multi-tenant SaaS is an offering that is suitable for large-scale deployments such as Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) providing critical communications solutions as a service.

Completing the certification process

Achieving ISO 27001:2022 certification involved a process to establish, implement, and verify an ISMS. This process was performed by PSS with the support from the product and management teams. The scope of the process covered Agnet’s delivery release of Multi-tenant SaaS including all relevant organizational operations related to secure customer deliveries.

The process began with the assessment of information security practices against the standard. Airbus is accredited by several national authorities to handle confidential information. Airbus systematically evaluates information security risks, taking into account the impact of modern security challenges, including new threats, technologies, and operational models like cloud computing. These established cyber security practices comply with the specifications defined in the ISO 27001:2022 standard.

Next in focus was risk management and controls to mitigate potential security vulnerabilities. Airbus designs and implements a comprehensive set of information security controls and other forms of risk management to address customer, supplier and architecture security risks. The management process aims at ensuring that the information security controls meet today’s and future customer needs. Furthermore, training and awareness programs guarantee that all Airbus employees understand their roles in maintaining information security.

After an internal audit and a management review to ensure that the process was effective and the goals were aligned with business objectives, the certification audit was conducted by accredited certification body Bureau Veritas Group. Certification audit verifies readiness and assesses the practical implementation and effectiveness of the ISMS system. The audit was successfully completed and PSS received the ISO 27001:2022 certificate for Agnet Multi-tenant SaaS platform.
